Google's argument is that this data collection makes Google products better, critics thinks that users simply helps Google make good money on it that is the company's primary source of income: ads. The company voodoo now offers a completely new service on Norwegian called "account activity". Here you get a nice and relatively detailed overview of how to use all the Google services.
