The end of our existence begins in a small way. Not with a bang and fire and fight. People sneezes and sniffles. The influenza epidemic. Many sufferers. Many died. It escalates dramatically within a few weeks. FEMA camps around ghosts the country. They are hiding something, how many are actually dead and does the new vaccine in the first place? Some are immune, while the dead be burned in huge pits. Soon the sick and unwanted refugees in their own country and kicks. Defcon ghosts first
The virus mutates and vaccine ghosts creates undead. Several major cities abandoned in favor of zombies. FEMA camps end up as closed ghosts death camps, when the dead walk again. The immunes blood used for a vaccine and the military sends bounty hunters out to catch survivors used as dairy and drained of blood in the halls filled with beds. Zombies change. New skin under the dead. They are fast. Predatoriske. They hunt in groups. They breed. Zombie ghosts meets man as cro-magnon met Neanderthal. Should they take over the world? Alpha Males.
Judgment Day is very narrative and the trustworthy and JE Gurley makes an effort to keep it that way. It begins as a regular apocalyptic thriller and I like that. It's about people in violent situations. It is human warm and jovial ghosts and oozes atmosphere. Maintained! ghosts So good mood as we psychotic now even find the world's end. Impressive, is probably a better choice of words. It is close to the protagonists without anyway to get right under the skin of them, and you sense that you are dealing with ordinary people to make that stand and walk like you and me. This makes Gurley well.
The book feels oddly outlaw with a hint of something unintelligent hillbilly-ish. It is quite frightening in itself. The story is gruesome because the main characters seem real and not because ghosts it is intense and present. It's JE Gurleys strength: To tell and describe and give life. It is expressed in human characters. This is where he's at home and you feel the flow.
